Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Elsevier.
Customer Consultant
I had an interview for a CC role. The first round was a casual online chat with the hiring manager. Then, I had a second online interview with some team members where I had to give a presentation on a topic I picked and answer more in-depth questions about the job. Everyone was super nice and professional.
- Can you share some general behavioral questions, including STAR method questions?
Customer Consultant
It was a three step assessment process: Interview with the Recruiter, Hiring Manager, Working Team, respectively. All the interviews were based on virtual platforms. Despite having concluded positively all the interviews I was rejected and no specific feedback was ever given, even upon request.
- Can you share your previous experience and how you approach problem-solving?
- Describe your experience and your approach to problem-solving.
Product Consultant
Hiring manager reached out via email. Most communication was by email. They explained what to expect in the interviews. There were multiple interviews, some in person and some over the phone. I met with people from different parts of the business. They asked standard behavioral and situational questions, along with a few random conversational ones. The people were very nice. I did not speak with anyone from HR.
- After a number of interviews, I was asked if I was still interested in the position.
