Customer Success Manager
I got through the first three stages of the interview process, which included a SparkHire video, a written assignment, and a 1.5 hour Zoom call. They sent a somewhat unclear email saying they decided to move forward with other candidates. I reached out for some feedback to help me improve for the future, but I never heard back. I'm actually not sure what they were looking for, even after completing those steps. I really like the company's mission and values, so I hope they find the right person.
- Would you describe yourself as someone who primarily does the work, or someone who delegates tasks?
Customer Success Manager
The interview process started with a 1-way video interview on Sparkhire, which was pretty glitchy and took way longer than expected. Then came a written exercise where I had to analyze district data and write an email with suggested next steps. The next stage was a 2-part panel interview with a 2-part written exercise pre-work. The written exercise involved analyzing data, resolving an issue on their platform, and preparing to present a solution and info on seeking help. It was Part 1, and they said I'd role-play it. There was also a Part 2 exercise about drafting an implementation plan for new strategies, also for role-play. I thought it'd be two separate interviews, one for each role-play, but the first interview, Part 1, had a panel of 3 people. They told me I'd present both role-plays, which was unexpected and I wasn't prepared to share my screen. The panel seemed disengaged, and the role-play was awkward because they were silent for long periods. They gave feedback about being more conversational, which was funny since they weren't very conversational themselves. They also didn't mention time limits or put time remaining in the chat, which I didn't see anyway because I was sharing my screen. The vagueness of the exercise and lack of clear expectations made Part 1 a really poor experience. Then, at the very end, they told me the next interview was a values interview, which was also unexpected. The feedback was valid but harsh. The second interview, Part 2, had a panel of 2 people and was much kinder and more welcoming. Even though I wasn't prepared for a values interview, it went better because of their attitude. Their feedback was good. Both interviews were on the same day, back-to-back. I knew I was probably out after the first one, which affected my performance in the second. They provided updates after each round within a week.
- Can you share an instance where a project or situation changed suddenly, and how you managed it?
- Looking back, what would you have done differently in that scenario?
- What makes you want to join Ellevation?
Customer Success Manager
So, they first send you this 1-way video interview. Honestly, it's kinda nerve-wracking at first, but you can totally record it multiple times and take breaks. The questions they ask are pretty good, but man, they're tough to answer in just a minute.
- How would you approach customer success?
