First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Elk Grove Unified School District.
Research Analyst
I had a few rounds of interviews for the Research Analyst role. The first part involved answering questions about my background in data analysis. The interview format was a bit unusual, as I met with multiple people simultaneously. They were very open to answering my questions about the team and made me feel like it would be a good place to work. Ultimately, I received a generic rejection email.
- Can you describe your experience with data analysis?
Information Technology
I interviewed in front of a group of about 10 people. I had to answer a question from each one. It wasn't that hard, but it was different from a typical interview. They didn't follow up with any questions or expand on anything. Basically, it was one question for each person on the panel and they just went from person to person.
- Can you share an example of a technology problem you've solved?
Secretary
Typically, a panel interview is conducted, usually with the Principal, the Vice Principal (if applicable), and a Teacher. It's a pretty low-key process. Just make sure you arrive on time and dress well, like Sunday best. It would be helpful if you were familiar with the computer programs a Secretary uses, like the Budget program.
- Could you describe how you typically structure your daily tasks?
- Can you explain your approach to organizing your day?
Substitute Teacher
It's a phone interview, then an in person interview with a brief weight. After that they will call you on the phone to offer jobs as they become available and you can accept or reject jobs as you are available.
- Do you have prior teaching experience?
- What subjects are you experienced in teaching?
- What was your degree major?
