& Process

The interview process was as follows: First, I introduced myself. Then, I presented a design case I'm proud of and answered some questions about it. After that, I worked on a design task, thinking out loud. We also had some interview questions, specifically behavioral ones. Finally, they told me about the next steps in the recruitment process.

This interview was refreshingly personal rather than strictly technical, which I appreciated. While some engineers might prefer intense questioning, I found this approach more effective. I got to know Elisa, and she got to know me, learning about projects, the work environment, and most importantly, the people. They were also accommodating when I had computer issues and couldn't do a coding test, opting instead to discuss my knowledge. It felt like a genuine conversation, not a series of rigid questions. I have no complaints about the interview process; everyone on the video call was very helpful.

The first step was a chat with the Pre-Sales VP from Sweden, who was really friendly and approachable. It felt like a standard meet-the-hiring-manager sort of conversation. After that, I had an interview with the CTO of their recently acquired UK analytics division. I got a weird feeling from him, like he wasn't fully buying what I was saying or didn't fully trust my experience. They mentioned a tech presentation round after that, but it never actually got scheduled. I followed up with the hiring manager about it, and he said he'd get back to me, but he never did, which was pretty unprofessional given how things had been going.

It started with very easy math and English tests. Then there was a group activity to assess leadership potential. Following that, I had a simple one-on-one chat with HR to gauge my genuine interest. The most helpful and focused round was the final interview with the manager I would be working with, which aimed to verify my knowledge.
