Two rounds with the search committee. It was a great experience, interviewing with people I would be working and collaborating with. The second round ended with a one-on-one with the hiring manager.

The interview process was slow and very confusing with no feedback and lack of information about the job. The first stage was online, and the rest were in-person. There was a multiple-meeting session without information or direction about the selection process and the job's work location.

The hiring process was really bad. HR kept giving me the wrong interview times and locations, which was super annoying. The onboarding was a mess too. They basically asked me what I thought I needed to learn, instead of telling me what they expected me to know. I mean, I'm new, how am I supposed to know? You'll only learn by watching others, which is great if you're lucky. The training involved just following people around before they threw you into the job without explaining everything you needed to do or where to find college resources. When I asked questions, they told me to just re-read my job description. Also, expect an extra hour of Word and Excel tests, no matter what, even if those skills aren't important for your role.

It was a smooth process, with typical advisor questions focusing on prior advising experience, experience with students from various backgrounds, and how I manage stressful or difficult situations. The hiring committee had 5-6 people from different departments, and I recognized one person from previous job interviews.
