The hiring process at Element451 appears to be a bit opaque, as many candidates report being ghosted. Even with referrals from current employees, I discovered I wasn't selected for the role after seeing a LinkedIn post about the new hire for that exact position.

I talked to the VP of People for a screening and then the VP of Sales for the first interview. They said I'd move on to a follow-up with the Chief Revenue Officer. But then, I never heard back from either the VP of People or the VP of Sales, even after trying to follow up a bunch.

I applied through LinkedIn and then the hiring manager sent an email asking me to do a Predictive Index Assessment and after that a Zoom interview. During the Zoom call we talked about the role, Elements451, and your interest in it. The conversation didn't feel natural, it was poorly managed. The Predictive Index assessment is a joke, it's ludicrous to use it to assess candidates. It creates a terrible candidate experience and doesn't show how someone will perform. It's great for screening candidates out, not in. Funny thing is, before the interview, they ask you to fill out an online "paper" application like you're applying for a summer job. What kind of place still makes candidates do this? My tip: get rid of it.

Behavioral Technical

I got an interview through networking. First, I talked to the VP of CS about my mindset and if I'd fit in. We talked about business problems and where the company needs to go. Then, I interviewed with the VP of HR about how the job fits the company and its culture. Lastly, I talked with the CTO about technical challenges and how they relate to the role. Element451's strategy is inspiring, and the team is full of doers and winners. It was a great interview experience with a strong leadership team and an exciting strategy.
