First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Element Biosciences.
Scientist
It was a three-round interview process and the interviewers were professional, to the point, and friendly. You should be ready for a panel interview where you'll meet your future teammates. They move quickly. It was a good experience overall.
- What makes you want to work at Element?
Scientist
I applied for an Assay Development Scientist position. The hiring manager interviewed me first and thought I'd be a good fit for two openings, asking if I was interested in either. I said yes. A week later, the department director interviewed me. I reiterated my interest in either position. He mentioned one had been filled and asked me to guess which. A week after that, a senior manager interviewed me for a protein engineering role, which I hadn't applied for. A few days later, the director rejected me for the protein engineering position. It seems like a good company, but they could be more organized about who they're interviewing for what roles.
- Tell me about a time you dealt with a conflict.
- How many individuals are on your lab staff?
Scientist
The interview process was great. The interviewer was knowledgeable and relaxed, and seemed like they would be a supportive supervisor. The hiring manager was also very pleasant and asked standard behavioral questions.
- Could you share your short-term and long-term career aspirations?
