It was pretty straightforward. They mainly focused on questions about my resume and some hypothetical situations. They wanted to gauge my experience in managing client relationships and handling challenging problems. I ended up getting and accepting the offer.

The interview was a phone call where only one question was asked. I was told directly that I was not qualified for the administrative assistant role in the IS/IT Department, despite having 21 years of experience and a 4.0 GPA in BSIT. The interviewer, Leslie, seemed very direct but narrow-minded, not truly listening to me. The job description never mentioned pivot tables, yet I was humiliated for not bringing up this specific skill, even with all my other qualifications. I'm glad I had the interview, though, because I definitely would not want to work with someone who treats candidates this way over the phone. This was the worst and most unprofessional interview of my career, worse than anything I experienced at companies like Diebold and Square D. It's unbelievable that someone who belittles people without getting to know them or giving them a chance is in management. It's very disappointing. Karma will catch up, and how you treat people is how you'll be treated. God sees everyone equally, and just because you're in management doesn't give you the right to talk down to people like they're stupid and have no personal qualities. God has gifted everyone with unique qualities. Leslie, you are not God. I strongly suggest you treat people with respect, even if you think they don't meet your standards.

So I had a minimal phone interview with 3 members of IT. One IT manager did most of the talking and seemed a bit scattered, while the other two IT staff were quiet. They gave me a really basic IT quiz, the kind you'd expect for someone new to the field. Each of the two IT techs asked me one question, but they mumbled so it was hard to hear them. Then, a few days later, I had an in-person interview with a senior IT manager who talked a lot and asked very little. She went on and on about the company's history and mission with way too much detail. She didn't ask me anything about my experience. The IT manager from the phone call, who I found out had only been there a few months, was there too but stayed quiet this time. When I tried to ask her questions, she didn't know the answers and had to get the other manager to respond. This interview went on for over an hour, and I barely spoke for 2 minutes. I got an offer a few days later and accepted. They sold it to me as a Senior Desktop position with admin duties, but it ended up being super basic, entry-level work. I mostly just unlocked passwords and changed printer toner. The admin access they mentioned in the job description and interviews never materialized; I wasn't given access and ended up shadowing a 19-year-old intern doing the most boring tasks. By day two, it was obvious I'd been tricked into taking the job. It was totally uninteresting, and I didn't stick around long. Don't trust what EMS tells you in interviews, because you'll end up doing something totally different, and they won't take kindly to questions about the responsibilities you thought you were going to have. Oh, and they also don't mention that you'll be doing part-time maintenance, fixing doors and drilling holes. Avoid it!

It was a simple, straightforward process. I got the offer, verbally accepted, and had a start date set before I left for vacation. I reached out while I was away and was told they'd hired someone else who started immediately. This place is about 100% like life insurance, and you can succeed if you're willing to do anything. It's bush league, period.
