First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at El Pollo Loco.
Cook
I sent in my application online, then I had a phone call where we talked about my background, experience, and knowledge about the industry, food safety, and the space. We also talked about working fast.
- Can you tell me about your background and experience?
- What do you know about the space?
- What do you know about the industry?
Manager
First, we'll review your application and then I'll ask you to tell me about yourself and your past experience. We'll also go over some scenarios to see what you would do, and discuss your availability, including nights and weekends. Finally, we'll leave time for your questions.
- What might prevent you from accepting this position?
Sales Associate
It was a quick and easy interview, mostly asking personal questions about yourself and your motivations for wanting to work at El Pollo Loco. They also asked about the skills you bring to the company that would make you a better fit here than elsewhere.
- What makes you want to work at this establishment?
- Could you tell me about yourself and what personal attributes you bring?
- What unique skills do you have that would benefit El Pollo Loco over another company?
Supply Chain Manager
The interview process was fine and I was really excited about the role, feeling confident I'd get an offer because I was told I was the top candidate. After my last round, I followed up as usual and waited. Days turned into weeks with no response until someone finally apologized, saying they chose another candidate. While I'm okay with not getting the job, especially since I was likely the second choice and they were waiting to see if their first choice would start, stringing someone along without feedback is bad practice. I'm glad I dodged that bullet though.
- Can you describe your experience and involvement in the food supply chain?
