The application itself took the most time. The interview was pretty in-depth, but it felt really relaxed. It's key to have a reason for wanting to tutor that goes beyond just earning money. It seemed like they were looking for people who truly care about helping students, more so than just having the skills.

It was pretty straightforward. I sat in a small conference room and four managers came in. They each asked me a couple of questions. They were all nice and were students too, so it wasn't too scary. They told me about STS and that it's a part-time job for students at the college. They checked if I met the requirements before asking me standard interview questions.

Presentation

I got a work-study job with the dean of arts. My supervisor liked my work ethic so much she told me to apply for a school position when one opened up. My supervisor called me when the job was available. I interviewed with the department supervisor and got hired a week later.
