Data Engineer
It was three interview rounds: HR, Team Lead (TECHNICAL), and Director (Offering). The technical interview was mainly about the general role of a data engineer, not primarily focused on a specific topic. It was also beneficial to know about Informatica, Denodo, and Cloudera platforms. The HR interview was just for introduction and was not an eliminatory stage.
- Could you tell me what you know about Denodo?
Software Tester
The interview process starts with L1, covering testing concepts and basics, types of testing, SDLC, STLC, defect life cycle, severity, and priority. Then L2 dives into banking domain knowledge, finance and banking testing questions, logical reasoning, and thinking ability. Finally, L3 is with HR.
- Do you have strong knowledge in testing and banking?
Intern
So, first there was this quick HR call where I just had to introduce myself, talk a bit about my background, and explain why I wanted this internship. The HR person was pretty chill and gave me a quick rundown of the company culture and what they look for in interns. After that, a technical engineer hopped on and wanted me to explain some programming concepts, object-oriented stuff, and how I approach basic problem-solving. Depending on the specific role, they also asked about databases and web development. Towards the end, we chatted about my past projects, when I’m available over the summer, and what I’m hoping to get out of the experience. It felt like a good mix of technical stuff and making sure I’d be a good fit for the team, and it was pretty supportive.
- Can you discuss your graduation project and outline the technologies you are familiar with?
Lead Android Developer
So, this was for a role in India, they were setting up a team in Chennai. A consulting firm reached out to me. After the recruiter's initial contact, there were 3 interview rounds. Two were with folks based in Saudi Arabia since they didn't have people in India yet, and the final round was with the India Operations Head. They told me I passed all rounds and I had shared my expected salary upfront, which they seemed fine with. They seemed quite keen to wrap up the interviews quickly. But after I cleared, there was radio silence. I followed up for 3 weeks, and then they finally said they couldn't offer me the job because my salary expectations were too high. At first, they blamed it on year-end stuff, and then this final reason. It felt really unprofessional after I put in my time and effort. Just a heads-up if you're considering applying to this company in India.
- Tell me about the Android lifecycle.
- In what ways would you secure an Android application?
- Can you explain Livedata?
