I applied via Indeed and was promptly asked to complete both graphic design and logic assessments on the platform, requiring a proficient score in both. If successful, the Operation Specialist then sent an invitation for the Predictive Index® Behavioral Assessment, which she stated is a scientifically validated behavioral assessment. I found the reliance on personality tests to be biased and frankly, insulting. I inquired about feedback or results from the assessment but received only a copied and pasted response of the original invitation. I was disappointed with their communication and the rationale behind using a behavioral test.

I applied through Craigslist and the HR Manager contacted me. We had a phone call, then I went in for an interview with a manager and the HR manager. They reviewed my qualifications and then I had to do a data entry test where I created an Angie's List posting from paper info. I got an email within two days for a second interview the next week. This was a group interview with the manager from before and two other people. They asked about my work style, past experience, and software skills for a web design/email marketing role. The company seemed nice and clean. The designers worked in an open area with no cubicles, similar to Hollister's lighting. There was a fridge and water cooler nearby. The designers' area was surrounded by offices and conference rooms. I got an email later saying the position was filled. They re-posted the job on Craigslist the same day and for months after.

The interview process was very smooth and painless, they’re interested in finding the right personality fit which was reflected in the genuine discussions that were had rather than coding challenges and take-home tests. It started with an initial multiple choice personality test, followed by a chat with the recruiter, then some of the more senior management and finally the CEO. All stages were comfortable and it never felt like an interrogation like some companies’ interviews can. I am grateful for the transparency, patience and kindness I was shown throughout the short and sweet interview process.

It was a super fast process. I had a recruiter call, which was pretty standard. Then I had my first in-person interview early in the week. I went back a few days later and they told me that afternoon that I got the job. The first interview was pretty basic, focused on getting to know me and explaining the company. The second interview was a bit more challenging, involving role-playing where I had to handle a lot of questions and objections. It was a little intimidating, but it worked out because I got the job!
