First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Egg Harbor Cafe.
Host
It was a simple interview that took about 15 minutes. They asked about my top 3 values, why I want to work there, and a time I had a conflict with someone.
- What are your top three values?
- Why do you want to work there?
- Tell me about a time you had a conflict with a co-worker, family member, or other.
Hostess
The interview process can differ, but typically for an EHC position, the manager wants to see if you fit the company culture. EHC really likes employees who are energetic, caring, and good with people.
- How do you talk to people?
- How do you handle doing many things at once?
- What action would you take if a guest discovered a hair in their meal?
Dishwasher
It was a pretty chill interview process. They had me fill out a form asking about when I could work, my experience, education, and who I'd used as references. When I got there, they offered me a drink and I waited in the main restaurant area for the interview. They were super nice about it, but they said they'd let me know if I got the job, and I never heard back.
- Tell me about your experience in this field.
- Can you describe your typical work routine?
- What are your working hours/availability?
Server
The interview went really well and they were understanding. It turned out to be a good fit. We sat down and talked about my past work experiences. They asked how long I had worked in the serving industry and about any issues I've had with scheduling. We also discussed what it takes to be a good server.
- How many years have you served?
- Can you tell me about your past job experiences?
- Have you encountered any scheduling issues?
