First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at EFJohnson Technologies.
Software Engineer
The interview process had three online interviews. I spoke with the lead, a senior developer, and the director. It was mostly behavioral questions, with a few technical ones, but they weren't too tough. The whole thing felt pretty casual and went smoothly.
- Could you describe the process of building one of your previous projects?
Marketing Coordinator
First, there was a phone screen that lasted about 30-45 minutes with the hiring manager or the Director of Marketing. The next step would have been an onsite panel interview with the rest of the team, lasting about 1-2 hours, but I didn't get to that stage.
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
Contract Administrator
Applied in February for a non-supervisory role above entry-level that wrapped up in April. It started with a 20-30 min HR phone interview, then a 45 min hiring manager phone interview. Next was a 3-hour in-person interview with 5 people (CEO, marketing, IT, hiring manager, HR), each lasting 30-40 mins. After sending thank yous, I was asked for law school and undergrad transcripts from 13 years ago. I sent my law school ones and offered my diploma for undergrad, as getting old transcripts would be hard. They insisted on seeing grades from 13-17 years ago. I couldn't get them quickly and understood if that removed me. A month later, the hiring manager wanted another phone interview. The next week, we spoke, and they apologized for the delay (due to business travel), said I was wanted, and the only candidate. A week later, HR called and offered me the job, $5k below market. I asked for a copy to review. The next day, I told HR my counter offer, and they said it would be run up. The day after, HR couldn't get to the CFO but said I'd hear soon. The next day, HR called with bad news: my counter offer was rejected because the original was the max budgeted, and then the original offer was rescinded because they didn't like that I submitted a counter offer. All this for a job advertised as needing someone who could negotiate and stand up in tough situations.

Manager
The final interview was at the corporate office and consisted of about 4 hours of individual interviews with staff from subordinate to executive levels, along with a lunch interview with an executive. Before that, there was a phone interview and another in-person panel interview at a different location with technical staff.
- Can you tell me about your business experience?
