I applied for the program based in Tokyo when it was advertised. I was invited to interview but because of incredibly poor organisation on the part of the hiring manager it never actually happened. I had to email her five times over the course of a few weeks just to get a response. When she finally responded she not only scheduled me an interview for 4 am my time (a time zone she was made aware of at several points during the application process and through email) she told me about the interview AT 1AM ON THE DAY IT WAS SCHEDULED. I tried repeatedly to reschedule it when I saw the invitation and was told quite rudely that they’re not responding to candidates that haven’t been shortlisted after interview.

I value EF company, but this interview was a disappointing experience. I was interviewing for a position combining both technical capabilities and change management skills. I had an interview with the Product Owner responsible for the tools/ systems. The conversation itself was fairly easy and nice. Still, I felt like I should be talking to somebody from communication/ change management rather than being interviewed solely as a cultural fit. Also, I missed the initial recruiter call, literally any additional information about the job or interview round, even the possibility to ask questions. Instead, I got the invitation for an interview, not explaining what type, with whom, and providing only a few slots possible. Also, no feedback was given. While I get the easy-going culture, I missed some structure and involvement from a recruiting standpoint.

I applied for the Business Manager position through Glassdoor. About a week later, I had my first interview with the country manager, who was new but had significant experience in Education. The interview went well and I felt comfortable. The following week, I had a second interview with an HR contact. After that, I didn't receive any further updates.
