First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at eDreams ODIGEO.
UX Researcher
I got referred by an ex-employee on LinkedIn and applied through a recruiter at eDreams. The HR team at eDreams was fantastic - very responsive and professional. My first interview was a phone call with Laura from HR. It was a great experience, much better than a typical HR screen. Laura was thorough and asked about my work style, culture, and also had some technical research questions. After that, I had two video interviews, one with the CMO and another with the leader of the research team. Both were very comprehensive and well-handled, which made a good impression.
- They asked questions typical for a UX Research role.
User Experience Designer
I was contacted by an external recruiter on LinkedIn for this role. First, I had a chat with the recruiter, then with an internal HR representative. After that, I met with a Team Lead and two team members. The main goal was to assess my thought process on a new project. I started from scratch, conducted research, outlined the theory, and presented visual results across about 20 pages. I proposed two potential solutions and emphasized the need for testing and validation, which is crucial in UX. I didn't make assumptions, which might have been a misstep. The UX designers seemed a bit weary and focused on granular details. I inquired about the team's morale, which seemed to lighten the mood. I had to follow up via email to learn about their decision. They were surprised that someone hadn't reached out to me, and mentioned that positions were only available in native apps, indicating they weren't clear on my application for the specific role I applied for. I requested feedback from HR on my presentation and overall impression but received no response. Later, the external recruiter informed me that the final outcome wasn't satisfactory. It felt like a typical large company experience with a 'not my responsibility' vibe at times. The reasons for rejection seemed questionable, and their communication left some gaps. The overall experience was okay, but it was a shame about the time invested, and I felt a bit disheartened by the unclear rejection and unanswered questions.
- Regarding your design solution, did you make modifications to any other elements?
- What was the reason for not doing so?
UX Designer
My first chat was with HR, who laid out the job details and cleared up any recruitment process questions, being super upfront. I talked about my background, what drives me, and my salary expectations. The next week, I met the hiring manager. They gave me a deeper dive into the role's purpose and the team's setup. Then, they assigned me a design homework, telling me to take my time with it. A week later, I submitted the assignment to HR, who then set up a meeting with a good chunk of the hiring team for me to present my work. During the presentation, the team was really supportive of my work and asked lots of questions about my project management and my current work style. I received a job offer about 10 days later. The hiring manager and HR were consistently available to help with any questions throughout the entire process.
- Can you describe your collaboration process with developers and marketing teams?
- What methods do you use to manage user interactions?
