Product Designer
The hiring journey for the Product Designer role at eDreams was a smooth and organized 3-step process. It started with an HR call to screen candidates and share details about the job and company vibe. Then came a whiteboard challenge, which was a fun and tough way to see how I solve problems and think like a designer. The final step was a take-home case study that I had to present, showing how I figure out user and business needs and come up with design solutions. The eDreams team kept in touch and were helpful all the way. The interviewers were really engaged, understanding, and offered great feedback, making it a positive experience. The HR person was super communicative, friendly, and flexible, working with me to find the best time for interviews.
- Tell me about your approach to design.
- How do you make your design choices?
Product Designer
The interview had four main parts. First, I talked with the HR person for the job. It was about an hour. A week later, she contacted me to set up the next interview. This was a whiteboard session with two design managers. They gave me a problem and I had to explain my design thinking, process, and how I'd solve it. After that, I had to make a prototype and presentation of my solution based on the whiteboard challenge. I had a week for this. In the next interview, three people from eDreams ODIGEO joined. I presented my solution, they asked good questions, and told me about the next steps. The following week, I had a final chat with the design lead to ask questions about the role.
- What aspect of the design process are you most passionate about?
Product Designer
I applied through LinkedIn for this role, there were over 300 applicants. I had an initial chat with HR, followed by a conversation with the hiring manager. The next step was a team interview, but I didn't get that far.
- Could you walk me through your design process?
