First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Edpuzzle.
Lifecycle Marketing Specialist
I had a disappointing experience with Edpuzzle’s recruitment process. After a long series of interviews and an extensive case study, I was informed I had been selected and was awaiting the offer letter. Just two days later, I was told the process would not continue due to “internal organizational changes.” This was especially frustrating given that the company had stressed the urgency of the role, which led me to adapt my busy work schedule to accommodate interviews and dedicate an entire weekend to completing the case study within the short five-day deadline. While I understand that circumstances can change, companies should avoid posting roles or advancing candidates so far in the process if there isn’t certainty. Respecting candidates’ time and effort is essential.

Software Engineer
The first round was a behavioral interview with HR. They were looking for candidates who already knew their specific tech stack. I felt like they weren't open to hiring engineers who could learn new things on the job, even though their company mission is about teaching. My background was in Python/FastAPI, and that's why I was rejected.

Data Scientist
The interview questions were pretty easy and the interviewer was also good. I was able to answer all the questions, but some of the tech skills they were looking for didn't quite match my profile. I was willing to learn, but unfortunately, they decided not to move forward with my application.

Sales
It started with a really good initial screening, very pleasant. They asked the usual stuff about background and culture, plus some behavioral questions like 'tell me about a time you messed up'. They mentioned there would be 5 more steps, including more interviews and a take-home assignment. I think these long processes, especially the assignments, are getting a bad rap because they don't respect candidates' time and lead to a long time-to-hire, probably causing good people to drop out. The second interview was a letdown. The interviewer seemed distracted, checking their phone a lot. When I asked about the role and sales team structure, the answers were defensive and condescending, suggesting they hadn't put much thought into the role or provided any metrics for success. I pulled out right after that.
- Can you share an instance where you made an error?

- Could you elaborate on the structure of this role and the sales team?
