Had a quick phone call about me and the job, plus Q&A about the role. They said they'd send a coding challenge, but I had to follow up after a couple days to get it. Once I got the instructions, I built the app, which involved using their API. The same person called back to discuss the challenge and next steps, mentioning an onsite interview would be scheduled for Friday. I didn't hear back, so I emailed the following week. They replied a week later, saying people were traveling and couldn't interview for a couple more weeks. I waited, but then heard nothing more, even after a few follow-ups. It started off fast and professional, but ended up being really unprofessional and disrespectful.

The interview kicked off with a quick recruiter call. Following that, I had a chat with the hiring manager, who seemed really rushed and uninterested. They literally started by saying they were short on time and I should just start talking. The questions were pretty basic, like 'Tell me your biggest weakness.' When I asked about my first 100 days, they had no clue. They even seemed to be talking to someone else in the background during the call. They cut the interview short for another call, even though they were late to start. It felt super unprofessional overall.

Got referred by a friend to a recruiter. The interview process was super fast, under a week, likely because I had another offer pending. They asked medium-level algorithm questions and some math/stats questions if you're into data science. The recruiter was really professional and responsive, and the engineers I spoke with seemed pretty chill.

  • A question about gathering data using an API over the phone.
  • Some very basic statistics questions, such as Bayes theorem.

I had around 6-8 interviews with the team over a month. It kicked off with a coding challenge that was due in a week. Then, the interviews got technical, covering InfoSec, Systems Engg, Platform Engg, Algos, and Databases with the team members. After I passed all those, they made an offer, but it was lower than the market rate. When I tried to negotiate with HR, they ended up revoking the offer.

  • Can you tell me about your experience managing infrastructure?
