The first interview had only four questions and the interviewers were friendly. I was told I'd hear back about the next round by the end of the next week, but I never did because they ghosted me. I tried following up with the interviewer, but she didn't respond and just sent my email to HR. HR said they'd let me know when someone was chosen. It's clear it wasn't me, as they mentioned multiple rounds and I never heard about a second one. Their friendliness now seems insincere. Just be ready to be ghosted.

You meet with the search committee, then the program head, then the department head, then the dean, then the provost, and usually (evidently) with the president. You also have to do a teaching demonstration. Long day, but not super demanding. The university is unionized, so it makes for some strange dynamics from the dean upwards. They want to get you on their side, and they also want to put down a line with newbies from the beginning, as they are trying to make tenure and promotion a bit more meaningful. They want you more than you want them. And the people you meet are generally very nice.
