First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Edgewood College.
Outreach Coordinator
The interview was a lengthy phone conversation. The interviewer was really nice and asked detailed questions. Overall, it was a good experience. I liked how open and honest she was.
- Tell me about a past challenging work experience that would help you in this role.
Assistant Professor
Just so you know, Edgewood is leaning more into its Catholic identity and is also changing its tenure policies. The college has moved from its liberal arts roots under new leadership recently, and humanities programs are struggling. The interviews themselves aren't overly tough, but make sure you highlight your teaching versatility and how you'll support the college's core principles (like truth and partnership).
- In what ways will you uphold the college's core values in your teaching?
- How do you ensure your teaching methods are student-centered?
Admissions Counselor
We started with a 30-minute phone chat with 3-4 people from admissions, maybe one from another office, just to get to know me. Then, there was an in-person interview. This included a one-on-one with my direct supervisor, another with the VP of enrollment, a group interview, and a short presentation. The presentation was mostly to check public speaking and my ideas about recruiting for higher education. It was a long day, but a good experience. The college really seems to care about its employees and takes its time vetting candidates.
- Can you describe a difficult situation you faced at work and how you handled it?
Campus Minister
This was a first round phone interview with four staff members from the ministry department. It was a very pleasant experience all around. Application process was very simple and straight forward. I had a couple questions and Human Resources was very helpful and answered them right away. All communication was in a timely manner. Great people at Edgewood.
- Why are you interested in Edgewood?
- How would you contribute to furthering the mission?
- Can you share your experience with us?
