I had two phone calls, first with a recruiter and then with the manager to discuss our mutual expectations. After that, I went to the office for an in-person meeting with the manager and his colleague. The interview felt pretty relaxed, not too intense, and they were not rude or critical, we just had a nice chat about my experience, what the company is trying to achieve, and things we might have in common.

The interview was for a Marketing Intern position, but they mentioned it's an engineering firm and might not be hiring for marketing roles. It felt like they were mostly looking for free marketing advice. I interviewed in December and haven't heard back since.

The interviewing process was really efficient and thorough. The EDG hiring team moved fast. The recruiter called me for a screening within two days of applying online. A week later, I had a longer call with the hiring manager, then an in-person interview. They put extra effort into making sure it was a good fit for both sides. A big reason I applied to EDG was how well they treated candidates. It made a huge difference that the team kept me updated (an email by the end of the week with status, even if it was just 'more on Monday'), didn't ask repetitive questions, and moved quickly. They were realistic about timelines and answered tough questions honestly. The actual process, questions, and expectations were pretty standard. EDG was interested in my relevant experience, growth opportunities, career interests, and team fit. Even after I accepted, the onboarding team was great before I started. I had a few calls with the recruiter before my start date, so setup was smooth, and I even had business cards on my first day. EDG put in the time and energy to make a new hire feel welcomed, from applicant to employee.

I met with two team members I would be working with regularly who told me a bit about the company's direction. They asked great questions not only about my experience but about me and my interests. The process was a bit lengthy, they are a small firm so they are very careful with who they hire. Communication was open and they were very flexible with times to meet me. Overall, very positive! I had a few opportunities coming together at the same time and the people and culture are what made choosing EDG an easy choice!
