On the day of the interview, the two interviewers from EDF mentioned they couldn't activate their cameras due to their location. It was awkward having to keep my camera on while talking to a black screen. The conversation wasn't very engaging, and the interviewers seemed uninterested. I asked several technical questions about the role. Then they asked if I had reached out to anyone on myjobglasses for more information. I replied no, stating the job description was detailed enough and I could ask follow-up questions during the interview, also noting no one had held this specific role on myjobglasses. Apparently, this was a mistake on my part. I felt like they expected a candidate who had always dreamed of being an engineer at EDF and would sacrifice anything for a report nobody would read. I inquired about the feedback timeline and was told 'next week, two weeks max.' I never received any feedback and found out about the rejection by checking my candidate account on the EDF website. As a bonus, after applying for another position, I got an email two months later about a technical interview scheduled on-site, with no option for video, seven days later. I was living on the other side of the world at the time but returned to France right after the deadline. However, no negotiation was possible. They seem to prioritize candidates living locally and available on short notice over qualifications.

My recruitment experience with Agregio Solutions was really disappointing. Last year, I went through a 7-stage process, met 8 people, and spent over 22 hours on interviews and a significant technical test. All this for complete silence after the last stage. No response from HR, not even a formal feedback, despite my follow-ups. The headhunter assured me an offer was being drafted, but then there was this clear dismissiveness. This level of disregard and disrespect for a candidate is just unacceptable.

Before the interview, get to know the company, the job, and the people you'll meet. Review your resume and have concrete examples of what you've done ready. There might be a first phone chat to check your basic skills and if you fit the role. Be brief and clear. You might meet recruiters or hiring managers in person. Expect questions about your technical skills, experience, and personality. Have specific examples ready. For technical roles, expect questions on real problems or practical exercises. Be methodical and explain how you'd solve things.
