& Process

Recruiter gave me a call and set up an interview. The first interview was with the hiring manager via Teams. He asked standard project management and experience questions and was very professional. He also talked about the role and answered my questions. About two weeks later, I was invited for an in-person interview at the Bristol office in early January 2024. I got an offer less than two weeks after that, which I accepted about a week later, without negotiating because I was happy. The recruiter mentioned that joining before March would mean I'd get the annual pay raise, which I did.

I had 2 parallel applications going on. The first one was with Agregio solutions, which was absolutely horrible!! (The agency manager was sarcastic about my profile and the salary I asked for. They made fun of my social background and my disability. There was no respect and no room for discussion. The interview was on video in a noisy place, and she was yelling at me to be heard. She lectured me on what work is when I asked about the company culture: 'we are here to work (lol)'. The HR person didn't say a word for 30 minutes (psychological pressure from her boss?) and only told me about the company benefits: CSE, health insurance, 50% transport reimbursement... lol, thanks, that's the law). It was the first time I cut short an interview after yet another mockery of my disability when they told me I needed to be internationally mobile, with one trip per month to the other side of the planet, deep in the jungle... paid peanuts (meaning for a manager, like a beginner technician) with responsibility for 20 people. In almost 10 years of career, I had never seen anything like it, especially since the job description I applied for had absolutely nothing to do with what the manager was telling me... a horrible interview. Let's talk about the second process, which went very well! It was fluid and fast (4 weeks in total with 5 interviews, including 2 with your bosses with technical and personality questions, two with HR, and one with a consulting firm after a personality test).

If your application is successful, you'll have an initial interview with the manager. If the recruiters are still interested, you'll have a second interview with the apprenticeship supervisor. In this last interview, they'll ask general questions at first to see what you've retained and understood from the offer, then more technical questions if needed. Plan for about 30 minutes for each interview. What really matters is showing your interest in the offer and the company, as well as your motivation, which you can justify with your passions or professional project (be coherent).
