First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at EDETEK.
UI Angular Developer
The HR interview was pretty good, I liked the person I spoke with and got a good feel for the role. The technical interview was a bit weird though. It was supposed to be an hour but only lasted about 25 mins. Mostly they asked about my past experience, and only one question was about front-end stuff, and most of the questions were back-end related. Then we talked about my questions for like 10 mins. I thought I did okay but they sent a rejection email pretty fast. I asked for feedback on why I didn't move forward but never heard back, which was a bummer because I wanted to know what I could have done better and show I knew Angular. There would have been a second interview if I had passed this one. So, the first part was nice, but the lack of feedback at the end was disappointing.
- What different kinds of data structures are you familiar with?
Frontend Developer
So, they asked me a few questions about Git, Asp.NET, C#, OOP, and Angular, which was kinda funny for a Frontend role. They mentioned they were also assessing experience and behavioral aspects, but honestly, we barely covered that beyond a quick intro. No actual behavioral questions were discussed.
- Can you explain the difference between merging and rebasing in Git?
- What key things do you look for when reviewing a pull request?
- Could you describe what inheritance is in OOP?
SAS Programmer
The interview process started with a SAS technical screening that lasted about an hour. Then, there was a 1.5-hour interview with the manager of SAS programmers and the CEO. Finally, an interview with the HR director concluded the process, which was quite fast and smooth overall.
- Can you discuss the projects that are on your resume?
- What SAS procedures are you familiar with?
- Could you explain the statistical methods you've employed?
Senior Java Developer
I first got contacted by an HR agency via Telegram. The interview process had several steps. First, there was a recruiter call that covered my expectations, salary, and career goals, and it also included an English proficiency check. After that, I had a 'fit' interview with the recruiter, which focused mostly on soft skills but also included a few technical questions. My profile was then sent to EDETEK. Next, I went through two technical interviews with the tech team. The first one was quite theoretical, focusing on fundamental concepts, which was a bit unexpected. The second interview was more standard, delving into specific technical requirements and their platform, and it included a small coding exercise. This was followed by a casual chat with the team lead to discuss the team structure and my specific responsibilities. Finally, the recruiter got in touch with me and extended an offer, which I accepted. The onboarding process involved a lot of paperwork.
- Can you explain the benefits of using composition instead of inheritance in OOP?
