Business Systems Analyst
Had a good screening call, but the interviewer for the next round was unpleasant. The interview was rescheduled twice with little notice, and there were no apologies or explanations given for the short notice. The interviewer started the conversation with a negative attitude. Overall, it was a terrible interviewer experience.
- Can you tell me about a previous project you worked on?
Marketing Manager
I applied online and it took about 3 weeks for them to respond. There was about a week or two between each interview. The interview process was a bit unusual. The HR interview was pretty standard, and they talked a lot about the company's 'people first, work environment' culture, which sounded good. The second interview was a panel, and they joined 10 minutes late to our 30-minute meeting, which is understandable since they were coming from other meetings. But, it felt like the panel was rushed and it was more like a rapid-fire questioning session than a conversation, with no time for small talk. They just asked if I could do things with a 'yes/no' answer. They didn't use cameras on their end, but I had to be on camera, which was awkward. When I tried to give more details, they seemed more interested in the products my previous company sold and how we sold them, rather than my actual skills. It felt like they were using the interview time to scout out the competition. It's possible the interviewers were just having an off day, but the company culture pitched by HR felt very different from the people I actually met.
- Can you tell me about a product that your previous employer offered?
Stakeholder Engagement Specialist
The hiring manager gave me a quick 20-minute call to start. Then, I got an assessment test via email that I had 5 days to finish. About a week later, I had a 2-hour interview with the hiring manager, two team members, and the HR manager, with each chat lasting 30 minutes. The hiring manager's part felt rushed and the questions were super situational and not really related to the job or competency-based. I didn't get a strong sense of the company culture, just that they do good work and expect high standards with no errors. The HR emails had lots of mistakes, grammar-wise, and they seemed swamped, not writing proper emails. I never got any follow-up, not even a rejection. It's really unprofessional to have an interview process and then ghost a candidate.
- Can you share an instance where you had to persuade someone?
- What is the most valuable career advice you have ever been given?
Project Manager
Applied via company portal with resume and cover letter. If selected, had an HR phone screen to check salary scale and working eligibility. Then, a series of interviews: round 1 and 2. Finally, HR made an offer and we negotiated.
- Can you tell me about your experience that's relevant to this role?
- What drives your interest in this position?
- How would you describe your leadership capabilities?
