Behavioral Case Presentation

It was a horrible experience. They said it was a three-part interview process, and I finished all three interviews. Then, out of nowhere, they decided to add a case study email to submit. I submitted it two days before the deadline, CC’ing all the appropriate people, and never heard back. After waiting four days with no response, I emailed the manager. Two days later, he replied saying he was on PTO. When I asked about the benefits, he responded with “good news, you got the job” but no offer letter was ever sent. I followed up again, and two days later, I got an email saying he had just returned from PTO and that they chose someone else. This was extremely unprofessional and disappointing behavior.

Behavioral Technical

So after I applied, the tech lead reached out to me for round one. It was a nice conversation, but I thought it was a bit weird that a developer was setting up the calls instead of HR or the hiring manager. The tech lead said the recruiter was too busy and the hiring manager passed the task to them. That was red flag number one. Right after that, I had round two with the main tester on the team. They were also really nice and made the call feel like a casual chat. But based on what they asked and how they described the job, it seemed like they really wanted a manager, not a lead. They talked about making hiring decisions, building a team, performance reviews, and other management stuff. When I asked why it was posted as a lead and not a manager, the tester just said it was up to the hiring manager. That was red flag number two. Then, the hiring manager got in touch and wanted me to schedule a call. I hadn't heard anything about pay yet, so I asked if they could share the salary range to make sure we were aligned. The hiring manager's response was kind of snarky, saying their salaries are competitive and they have benefits, and then pushed me to meet ASAP because they've already moved other candidates forward. That was red flag number three. I replied politely, saying I'd be happy to meet but needed a number or range first before committing another hour to a call. Instead of giving me the salary range, the hiring manager told me I was no longer being considered.

Behavioral Technical

The interview process was standard: I started with an introductory meeting where the role was explained. Then, I had a meeting with the CSO regarding the position, which seemed to go well with positive interactions and questions. I sent weekly requests for an update but was ignored, so I'm concluding I've been ghosted by the company. It's very disappointing.

Got a message from a recruiter on LinkedIn about applying for the job. I went ahead and applied, then set up a video call. The call was good, and we talked about my past work. About a week later, they set up a meeting with the hiring manager. This one was a bit more technical, but mostly focused on my experience. I think the hiring manager was doing other things during the interview. He explained the company and the job. He mentioned he'd pass my resume to other folks on the team and they'd reach out. They ended up ghosting me and then reposted the job listing.
