First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at ECOVACS Robotics.
Manager
Applied online and got contacted the next day to set up an interview. The HR screening was solid, open, and positive. They were clear about the job duties, how the team is set up, and the pay. The HR person was nice to talk to. The interview with two managers, one from China and one from San Francisco, was totally different. The San Francisco manager sounded dismissive and condescending. When I asked for more info on questions, they didn't explain much. The manager from China didn't even say hello and seemed distracted most of the time, like they were doing something else. They didn't ask me anything and ignored several of my questions, including ones about working with teams in different places and the language difference. It was hard to tell what the team vibe was like because nobody interacted much. Just so you know, this job needs you to be available during Pacific time and China business hours, meaning your day will go late into the evening. So, while HR was good, the interview made me worried about how the leaders act, communicate, and how much they expect you to work.
- What is your understanding of Ecovac's products?
Graphic Designer
The interview experience was positive and went smoothly. The interviewer was friendly and professional. It began with a brief company introduction, followed by questions about my portfolio, design experience, and my approach to creative challenges. The overall process felt well-organized and respectful.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Marketing Manager
The recruitment process had 3 stages. The first interview was with someone in the role I applied for, the second with the Head of Marketing, and the last one with the Head of company in DE. It was a pleasant experience.
- What motivated your application to Ecovacs?
- Could you identify Ecovacs' primary competitors?
Business Development Manager
It started with a headhunter approach, then 2 rounds of interviews. After that, there was a Skype call with the department manager. Finally, there was a Skype and an in-person meeting with the General Manager and CEO of the company. The overall approach was basic and lacked professionalism, with a lot of Chinese BS talk. You have to tell them what they want to hear, and they're game. They don't seem to have a clue what they need in their company or what the right people to hire are. I had to give a lot of consulting and advice until they understood.
- How would you help transform a Chinese organization into an international company?
- How would you go about training and building a strong international sales force?
- How do you deal with issues that arise with other departments?
