It started with an online screening with basic SQL and data pipeline questions. Then, there was a short technical round about ETL concepts and data modeling. The interviewers were nice and explained the role well, making it a smooth and easy process.

Nacho Baenas from HR contacted me on LinkedIn and called me out of the blue during my workday. He also messages on LinkedIn but doesn't reply to messages. It seems your time is his to use when he wants, then goodbye, no feedback or anything. Then Francisco Méndez Gómez interviewed me, more technical, lasted an hour, a bit tense. A very nervous man, seemed uncomfortable and eager to reject me. Strange character. I hope he gives that image to his clients.

  • Standard recruiter questions about job change motivations.
  • Technical questions focusing on how I work and acquire knowledge, perhaps challenging my methods.

First up was an HR call, where we chatted about my past work, specifically looking for cloud tech like Azure. We also touched on visualization tools, and my salary needs versus what I'm earning now. The HR person was pretty professional and explained the job well. They said I'd only need one more interview with the hiring manager, which sounded efficient. Then, I had an interview at their office with the manager. This one dug deep into my experience, but they seemed a bit iffy about my tool choices, leaning more towards Power BI and Azure expertise. They wanted more details on my experience and my reasons for picking certain tools.

The interview process started with a 30-minute HR call discussing my CV, motivations, personality, and expectations for the internship. They then presented the company, its affiliated startups, and international partnerships. Following that, I had an interview with the Director of Corporate Development. We reviewed my CV, and I was asked about tasks from my previous internship. The role was explained in detail: it's very strategy-focused with limited financial aspects. The role requires significant autonomy in building business plans, investment memos, and industry analyses, making prior experience in high-level finance or strategic consulting a requirement. There were no technical questions or brainteasers during this interview. After the interview, I received a finance and strategy questionnaire to complete within a few days. The process was slow, with a response taking several weeks. I was invited for a second interview with an Assistant General Manager four weeks after my initial visit, but I declined as I had already accepted another internship.
