Software Development Engineer In Test
This was a three round interview process. If everything went well, they would roll out an offer in about 2-3 weeks.
- Object-Oriented Programming concepts
- Data Structures and Algorithms
- Testing APIs using Rest Assured
Data Engineer
The interview started with an online assessment that took about 90 minutes. It had a few parts: SQL queries where I had to find the top 5 customers by shipment volume in the last 6 months, and also calculate the percentage of delayed deliveries per city using orders and delivery status tables. Then there was a data modeling part, asking me to design a schema for storing shipment tracking data, covering things like shipment ID, source, destination, hub checkpoints, status updates, and timestamps. Lastly, there was a coding task in Python to parse a JSON file with daily shipment updates and load it into a table, plus a function to spot duplicate shipments based on customer, date, and weight. It was moderately difficult, with a strong emphasis on SQL and handling real-world logistics data.
- For ingesting streaming GPS tracking data from trucks into a warehouse, how would you design the pipeline, and what AWS/GCP services would you propose for ingestion, storage, and querying?
Human Resources Manager
The interview process was good and efficient, with prompt responses. The entire interview period lasted over a week, after which an offer was extended. It began with a preliminary interview (PI), followed by a business interview, and concluded with a meeting with the CHRO. Offer negotiations were completed within two days.
- Tell me about your experience and past job roles.
- How did you manage responsibilities in your previous position?
Software Engineer
The interview process started with an assessment round focusing on Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and core Java. This was followed by an interview round where questions were based on Spring and Spring Boot, along with details about my project and how it worked. Finally, there was a managerial round to discuss the practical application of the Spring Boot framework in MVC.
- Can you answer some questions about Spring and Spring Boot, focusing on the framework itself rather than Data Structures and Algorithms?
- What are your thoughts on Spring and Spring Boot-based questions, primarily concerning the framework?
- Tell me about your projects and how they work in detail, with questions based on Spring and Spring Boot.
