First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Eclipse California.
Sales Representative
It was a friendly interview, and they did mention that the job involves going door to door selling internet or cable. It felt a bit like a pyramid scheme, though. It might be a decent job if you're into sales.
- Where do you envision your career path within this company?
Salesman
The hiring process was quite professional. While the role ultimately wasn't the right fit for me, the initial conversation was very helpful in answering many of my questions. It's a great company and team, but the role isn't for everyone, which is totally normal.
- Can you share your background in marketing?
Sales Representative
I applied a few months ago after seeing the opening on LinkedIn. I was initially interested because I thought it was a summer internship before my senior year, which would have been really valuable. However, when I went in for the interview, I found out it's not an internship at all. It's actually a commission-based job where you go door-to-door selling services like AT&T and Verizon. The interviewers were nice, but I felt misled and like I wasted my time. My advice is to not call these roles 'internships' and instead label them as entry-level door-to-door sales, because that's truly what the position entails. Also, be upfront about the actual job responsibilities instead of using vague, cliché descriptions.
- Can you discuss your communication abilities?
- Could you tell me about your past experiences and background?
