First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Echo Global Logistics.
Account Manager
A recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn and was super friendly and helpful throughout the whole process. They did the first phone screen and then scheduled me for an in-person interview. The office visit was really laid back. I had a casual chat with an on-site recruiter before meeting with an Account Manager. Both chats were very relaxed and conversational.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
National Account Manager
Got referred to Echo by a friend of an employee. Applied online and was immediately asked to set up a phone interview. After passing the initial phone screening, I was informed that the VP of Sales was in town from Chicago and they wanted me to schedule a time to come in. After meeting with him and going over my experience, I received a call from him on his personal phone, asked me why I would want this position if my background was more "Analytical." I responded questioning his career path, since he was a German major (Ballsy at the time)? After allowing him to answer the question, I said that I was interested in a career change and if he gave me a shot, I would be able to bring my analytical skills to a table, providing a cross-functional approach to a career in Logistic and Logistic Sales. At the time, it was the midst of the Great Recession and jobs were scarce so I was open for anything.
- Considering your accounting background, I'm not sure you'd enjoy this type of work. Could you explain your reasons for wanting a career change and what you believe you can contribute?
- Why are you interested in this role given your more analytical background?
National Account Manager
It started with a quick phone chat, maybe 10-15 minutes. Then I had an in-person interview with the same recruiter. That same day, I also did about 30 minutes of job shadowing and then talked with a manager. After all that, they gave me an offer letter to start the training program. There wasn't a drug test, but there was a background check.
- The manager asked, "Why should I hire you?"
- The manager asked, "Why should I take that risk?"
