& Process

I applied online and they reached out via email. I had a really good first interview with the person who would be my manager and was asked back for an in-person interview about a week later. I had another three interviews with different people, one was HR, another with the same manager as before and the last with one of the family owners. The last interviewer made a comment about wanting to leave and helping out due to the need for a position during covid. Then they asked some random, subjective questions that I felt had nothing to do with the job. This last interview was frustrating because it felt like the make-or-break one with a family owner. I didn't get to talk about specific skills or past jobs, and it felt like a weird personality test. The rest of the process was going well, but this felt like it derailed my chances. After this, I sent a thank you note and they replied saying they'd let me know when they decided. About a week later, I saw the same job reposted on LinkedIn with a higher salary. I find this unprofessional and indicative of messy team dynamics. It's been months, and I haven't gotten an official rejection, just ghosted, even though I know I wasn't selected.

It was a phone call where they asked general questions about my resume and experience. We talked about my past jobs and work experience. Then we discussed the company, their products, and their design process. There were also some questions about my educational experience and upbringing.

This was the worst interview process I have ever experienced. I went on 7 interviews and then was asked to take a 7 hour management test. I supposedly passed the test but then they decided I was not strategic enough. I had to follow up to get this feedback. They have no good business, I don't know how much more strategic I could get and was willing to introduce them to my contacts. This was a total waste of my time. I find this company to be extremely unprofessional. Thank God I dodged a bullet on this one.

The hiring manager was really engaged and seemed to love her job. She shared how she took a different path after college. It was a useful conversation overall.
