So I had this interview with eccovia and honestly, it was a pretty bad experience with the people interviewing me. They said I'd hear back in about four working days, but nope, nothing. They totally ghosted me. It's kinda sad seeing so many bad diversity reviews about them, makes you think this poor follow-up and communication thing is a regular issue. Seriously, the interviewers at eccovia need to step up their game and actually communicate properly and on time with candidates. It would save future applicants a lot of the same stress and not knowing what's going on.

A recruiter from a third-party agency reached out to me on LinkedIn. First, I had a phone screener with the recruiter to confirm if the role was a good match. The recruiter contacted me again about a week later to set up a Teams call with the hiring manager and their manager. A few days after that, I had a call that included the VP of Engineering. Finally, I got a verbal offer from the recruiter, followed by a written offer two days later.

Behavioral

The interview process was completely overblown, requiring you to come back 2 to 3 times to meet with every member of senior management. While this might make one believe they care about making quality hires, I assure you this is not the case. Be prepared for many false promises regarding profit sharing, training, and opportunities, all dangled as a carrot. You will never see profit sharing, training doesn't happen AT ALL, and employee tenure averages less than 2 years across the company.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • There aren't any questions asked; none of the managers displayed decent interviewing skills.
  • You should see this more as an opportunity to get them to talk about themselves, and you will do fine.
  • The egos on display are impressive given the ineptitude.

This was a lengthy and thorough interview process. It was quite fun and exhilarating to the point of gasping so much so that I shed half a tear. I wish we could do that again, I thought whimsically. I was in a profound altered state when completing this exercise.
