The interview process was super fast, taking less than a week. It was efficient and direct. The team seems great and has big goals, plus they seem to really care about their employees. I'm excited about the possibility of joining them.

Behavioral Other

After connecting at a university career fair, I had a mainly behavioral first interview with some cool, down-to-earth people. Then, I was invited to their HQ for a final round, which was a terrible experience overall. While the recent grads I spoke with were great, the people running the interview process seemed to not understand interviewing. It didn't feel like an interview at any point, and I didn't get to discuss my strengths or work history. I got a warehouse tour and met current team members, but that was just for me to ask questions. This is a small company that needs to improve its HR and hiring process to attract talent.

I applied through my university's job board and the company owner emailed me the next day to set up a phone or on-site interview. Since I was nearby, I went to their office two days later. Upon arrival, they offered me a hot drink, which I declined. I then chatted with the hiring manager about the company's background and culture. After a tour of their large, casual facility, I met with two mechanical engineers who told me about their jobs. It was very laid-back, with no formal questions, just a good conversation about my interests. They offered me a drink again because the conference room was cold. Next, I was given 30 minutes, a ruler, calipers, and a part to model and assemble using their CAD software. The whole experience was great, and I got an offer via email a few days later.

I went to a college career fair and met these people, and then had an interview the next day. About two weeks later, they had me come out to their site in Elgin, IL. I met with the recruiter and some of the employees on the design team. They were all super nice and asked some standard questions along with some more technical ones about working with the team and how I'd handle talking to customers. They finished with a quick test using Creo to make a part from engineering drawings. I didn't get an offer, but everyone was really friendly and on time.
