First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at eBacon.
Director of Marketing
It was a bit of a strange interview process. First, I had a video call with the recruiter who was really nice and gave me details about the job, the company, and the hiring timeline. She mentioned it was a new role they were struggling to fill. The second round was weird; it was again with the recruiter and someone from their technical leadership team. They asked standard interview questions but didn't really go into detail about the role or their expectations. They asked very few questions about my background and mostly I was the one asking questions. The interviewer seemed unprepared and uninterested, and couldn't really explain what they wanted to achieve. (It was odd that a developer lead was interviewing for a marketing role, but anyway). The whole process was pretty fast though. Edit: Even though the interview was a bit odd, Jess the recruiter made it a good experience overall. I asked for feedback and got a really honest and detailed response, which is not common!

Software Engineer
Had a chill recruiter chat first, learned about the company and vibe. Then got a technical interview the same day and sent in my code. Got dinged the next day because my code wasn't modular and they thought I didn't get Git since I didn't do a PR for my answer. The feedback was mostly fair, except for the Git part. The coding challenge was pretty standard for payroll software, think a mid-level engineer would nail it. They should be clearer about what they expect in solutions. The recruiter chat felt easy-going, and I didn't realize I needed to over-engineer it since they said it should take about an hour. The technical bar is fine, but it's a bit unclear how they set up the technical interview and what level they're aiming for.
- Are you comfortable working remotely?
Benefits Specialist
Getting hired here felt like trying to get into an exclusive club. The phone interview and emails were great, with the recruiter saying I was a perfect fit. But after the video interview, she got really rude and condescending, saying hardly anyone makes the cut and wouldn't explain why. I even tried to walk into the office to drop off my resume and set up an interview, but only saw the receptionist who seemed surprised.
- How do you feel about the work environment?
- Would you be comfortable working with colleagues who exhibit unprofessional behavior like using profanity and being loud?
Sales
It was a phone interview and then an in-person one. The sales manager did all the talking. You just had to nod and agree with him. Say you love cold calling and making money. Management will love you as long as you agree with their right wing politics. If you were recently fired from ADP you are a shoo in.
