First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at EB Games.
Sales Assistant
After I dropped off my resume, I got a call for a one-on-one chat. They asked me about my past work, what I'm good and bad at, and my goals in life. Then, I had to do this thing where they gave me a game and I had to pretend to tell a customer about it like they knew nothing. A week later, they called and I got the job!
- Tell me about your previous jobs.
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
- What are your life goals?
Sales Representative
Submitted my resume to a local EB Games store a couple of weeks ago. They called me on the phone to invite me to a group interview at the store. About 30-50 other people showed up, and we were split into groups of about 6-10 people. We introduced ourselves. We did a lot of group activities, like trying to build the tallest straw tower, and we were asked to sell them a specific product, plus some general interview questions. After that, they said they'd let us know within 2 weeks if they wanted to hire us.
- Could you tell us about someone you admire and the reasons behind it?
- Who is your preferred superhero and why?
- Tell us about yourself.
Sales Assistant
I went into a group interview with about 30 other candidates, and all the store managers from the Geelong area were there to hire for Christmas casual positions. They only accepted about 10 people. After that, I got a phone call from the store I liked the best with the acceptance letter.
- Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
- Do you have any general interview questions for us?
- For the team building exercise, can you build a newspaper structure with sticky tape that won't move?
