First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Eating Recovery Center | Pathlight Mood & Anxiety Center.
Therapist
The interview had a phone interview and then two in-person interviews. First I spoke with HR, then the manager, and finally leadership. It was a nice experience, everyone was pleasant and helpful, and I liked the tour of the facilities. I do know a friend who interviewed for a similar role but didn't get it; she only had the initial HR call and felt they asked fewer questions than I was asked.
- What is your motivation for working with individuals who have Eating Disorders?
Behavioral Health Technician
They do a behavioral based interview and want you to share stories about how you've shown their core values like compassion, accountability, and flexibility. They also asked about boundaries, which are super important for this job. You could do the interview in person or virtually.
- Could you share an instance where you established a boundary?
- Tell me about a time you showed compassion.
- Describe a situation where you took accountability.
Executive Director
I went through two interviews. First, a 30-minute recruiter phone screen, then a video interview with the hiring manager, the Regional VP, which was supposed to be 30 minutes but ended up being 50 minutes. This was in March 2025. Things seemed to be going really well after both interviews. The hiring manager even extended our chat because she wanted to talk more in-depth. I was told I'd hear back about next steps within two weeks, but then they just ghosted me. After two weeks, I emailed the recruiter for an update. He responded quickly, said he'd check with the hiring manager and get back to me the same day. He didn't. A few days later, I followed up again. He replied fast, mentioned the hiring manager was 'putting out fires' but promised an update by the end of that week. Still nothing. I never heard from him again, so I stopped asking. I get not getting a personalized rejection after just a phone screen, but I talked to two people and was told to expect more steps, possibly even an in-person interview out of state. It was super unprofessional to just stop responding and not even send a basic rejection. Constantly promising an update by a certain time and then not delivering, or even just not corresponding at all, is not only unprofessional but also really unkind given the time and effort I put in. The job and team sounded great, but the candidate experience really soured me on the company. It either means they don't care about candidates who invest time, or they're so disorganized that I was forgotten. Neither scenario is a good sign.
- In your past positions, how have you handled operational difficulties like not having enough staff, working with limited budgets, or dealing with rules and regulations?
Milieu Coordinator
It was weird. The email said dress professionally and be early, which is obvious. I was 10 mins early, but the interviewers were over 20 minutes late. It felt like they were selling me the job instead of me selling myself. I applied for Program Therapist, but they want PTs to start as MCs. It's a good job for someone still in school, but not the culture I'm looking for.
- Describe a situation where your supervisor asked you to do something you disagreed with.
- Do you mind working through bad weather and possibly staying overnight in the provided beds for emergencies like tornadoes?
