Engineering Manager
So I interviewed at Easy Post and it was really bad. The recruiter and hiring manager were cool at first, but the onsite interviews over two days were a mess. Day one, a senior engineer asked super basic questions you can find anywhere online, which was a bummer and didn't really test my skills. Then, a call with a product manager lead focused way too much on swimlanes and making sure engineering didn't slow things down, which felt excessive. Day two, I talked to a peer manager who asked normal stuff. But the CTO interview was wild – he kept interrupting me, bragged about firing 40% of engineers, and wore a t-shirt with a super offensive word. Unprofessional. The head of engineering interview was more like a chat full of his opinions, not a real assessment. They didn't ask any system design questions or follow up on my past projects, but then rejected me for not showing I could break down systems and guide the team. Just a really disappointing experience overall. I think they need a better, more thorough interview process.

Product Marketing Manager
A recruiter contacted me and gave me a take-home assignment with a 3-4 day deadline. I didn't hear back after submitting, which felt weird, so I found the hiring manager's email and reached out. They then set up interviews, including presenting my assignment to the team and talking with other stakeholders. Even after these interviews, I didn't get any updates. I followed up twice with the hiring manager before the recruiter finally got back to me after 2.5 weeks, saying they'd left voicemails that I never got. An email would have been fine. The recruiter clearly chose the easiest communication method for themselves and didn't bother to make sure I got the update. This whole thing was frustrating because I spent time on a detailed assignment just to be ignored, and not getting official updates was disheartening.

Software Engineer
The whole process took three months from submitting the application, going through all five interviews, then getting a rejection. The five interviews were HR, engineering manager, then three engineering team interviews. After the HR interview, I was not too thrilled about this company, since the HR rep was stiff, robotic, and stereotypical company-first HR rep. The engineers I met with were smart and interesting. This company has the worst interview process of any company I have interviewed at. It also has the worst HR team of any company I have interviewed at. Communication was never prompt. Instead the HR drones at this company prefer to wait 2 weeks to a month to move you to the next stage. After completing all interviews and while I waited for a final decision, the HR drones made a decision a week later, then sat on the final rejection decision for a over a week before letting me know.

Software Engineer
It was a great experience overall, and EasyPost moves super fast! Everyone was super pleasant to talk to and super accomodating. The engineers who interviewed me (all from the team I was interviewing for) were really pleasant, nice, smart, and even funny. It was cool how they put 2 engineers in each interview so I could see how they related to and synergized with each other, and also hear more perspectives about the engineers on the team I was interviewing for. The hiring manager was very down-to-earth and well-liked by the engineers. Everything had essentially a less than 1 day turnaround. I interviewed for a level 2 software engineer (I had 1.5 years of full-time experience), so I only had 2 hours of onsite interviews.
