First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Eastman.
Mechanical Engineer
They had 5 long interviews, and at the end of the last one, they didn't contact me. They just said they sent a non-existent email. There are many questions in English, and it's a company that ghosts people.
- Can you describe your most elaborate project in Inventor?
- How significant is safety in your opinion?
- What's your most complex project in Inventor?
Mechanical Engineer
I applied through a career fair at my university. I had a preliminary phone interview with some basic STAR format questions. The company paid for my travel to their headquarters for the interviews. One of the engineers met me for dinner the night before the interview day. The interview day had several one-on-one and a couple of panel interviews. The interviews mainly consisted of STAR questions with a few technical questions that weren't too difficult. Everyone was professional and courteous.
- Can you explain the modulus of elasticity?
Mechanical Engineer
After applying, I had a phone interview where they asked behavioral questions using the STAR method, and we discussed my work history and the job specifics. Then, I was informed I'd be flown to the Kingsport location. On arrival, I had dinner with a group leader and a senior mechanical engineer. The next day, I had breakfast with two engineers. One of them drove me to the plant for the actual interviews, which were quite relaxed. Following the interviews, two managers joined me for lunch, and we then toured the plant. Finally, I met with HR to go over benefits and other details.
