First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Easterseals Southern California.
Behavior Interventionist
First, the recruiter will look at your resume. If it looks good, they'll call you for an interview, which can be in person or over video. During the interview, expect questions about your background, abilities, and what you know about the job. Sometimes, they might give you a situation to see how you'd handle it.
- Can you share your experience working with children with disabilities or on the autism spectrum?
Direct Support Professional
I went through three interviews. First was a casual phone call to see if the company was interested in me, talk about locations and shifts, and if I wanted to move forward. I said yes and they said they'd call back. They called back with onboarding info. The hardest part was a super long online application, it was annoying. Then I just had to upload my documents. After that, I had a formal interview on Microsoft Teams about if I'd fit with the company. They then put me at a location they thought was best. The last interview was also on Teams with the person in charge at my specific location. This one asked how I'd handle specific situations that come up there. I waited to hear from onboarding after they accepted me. I got a schedule and was told to update my resume based on their offer. I signed it and start this weekend.
- What would you do if two clients had a scheduling conflict for showering?
Vocational Specialist
First there was a phone screen, then an HR Zoom Interview, followed by a Manager Zoom Interview. The final call was with a seasoned Vocational Specialist to go over the day-to-day job details. Each interview was about 4-7 days apart. After the job offer, I had to do LiveScan fingerprinting, a drug test, and a very basic physical with Kaiser Health Services. They have excellent benefits but the pay is lower to start, though there are some large bonuses and random cash gifts from the CEO for all employees. I've gotten $650 twice in 6 months, which is great!

Statistician
I applied online and got scheduled for an interview that wasn't even in my available times. After that one-sided call, the recruiter completely ghosted me. They started by saying the hiring manager was excited to chat, but then just told me about the company without asking anything about my skills or experience. I followed up multiple times via email, but never heard back and didn't even get a rejection.
