So, an Assistant Store Manager interviewed me. I'd been a loyal customer for ages and they actually gave me an application. The application asked about outdoor activities I do, which was great because it matched my personal hobbies. Then, there was a part about retail experience, which I didn't have, and selling (but I figured my military recruiting experience could count). The ASM later mentioned he was impressed by my connection to a charity the store was looking to partner with.

I went through 3 interviews with upper management. The process included phone and in-person interviews. It was a smooth process, and they were flexible with scheduling, which was great because I was relocating. They also let me pick my start date once I got the offer. Everyone I interacted with responded quickly after each interview.

Pretty simple, I met with two managers. They said they'd get back to me in a couple of weeks. Hiring only really happens at the start of summer and then again in the fall to get ready for the holidays. If you seem like a friendly person who likes being outside, you'll fit right in at EMS. You gotta be a bit of a granola type to apply. EMS is full of people who are really into what they do, and everyone's got their own thing that makes the team great.

I showed up on Friday with my application already filled out on paper and then came back for the interview the next day. The store was really short-handed so the manager was basically running the store and interviewing me at the same time. Because of that, the whole interview was on the sales floor, which made it feel more chill and easier for me. But usually it's not like that.
