First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Eastern Bank.
Customer Service Associate
It was a very casual and easy behavioral interview focused on customer service and situational questions. There were a total of 3 interview rounds: one with the recruiter, one with the branch manager, and one with the regional manager. This was for a part-time position, and most of the time they were introducing the team.
- What are your long-term career aspirations over the next 5 years?
- Can you describe your personal strengths and areas for improvement?
- Describe a situation where you had to deal with a challenging customer.
Investment Associate
The interview process started out well, but then there was a long silence for months. When they finally got back to me, I wasn't offered the job. The interview itself went fine, and I never got any feedback.
- Tell me about your experience with trades and trading software.
Account Manager
It was a pretty quick process to get a phone interview, but it took over 3 weeks and a lot of emails just to get updates. They didn't even tell me I didn't get the job until after I withdrew my application. I withdrew because the communication about getting the job was so poor, and I figured if it was this bad getting the job, it would be just as bad working there.
- What wages are you looking for?
- Can you describe your experience with management?
- How many people have you managed in your past roles?
Credit Analyst
The interview process includes two rounds. The first is with the hiring manager, who will gauge your suitability for Eastern Bank and ask job-specific technical questions. You'll get financial statements and have 5 minutes to prepare a presentation on the borrower. Other questions will be about your resume and your reasons for choosing Eastern Bank. It's pretty standard. The second round involves meeting several people from different bank departments. It's more of the same, but focused only on fit and how you interact with others, no technical stuff.
- Can you describe your responsibilities in your current or most recent role?
- Is there anything important about you that I should be aware of?
- What led you to choose Eastern Bank?
