The interview process was calm and welcoming. I met with the owner and the head of accounting, and they were kind, approachable, and interested in getting to know me. I was given a short and simple assessment with math and reading/spelling sections. They explained it's standard procedure for all candidates to ensure comfort with basic skills needed for the role, not as a challenge. I appreciated their honesty and transparency.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I applied for a customer service/wholesale sales job through a referral since I have experience in that area. The owner saw my BFA in photography and graphic design and wanted to interview me about my creative background in addition to the sales role. We had two interviews. The first was with the owner and some other people, including the marketing director. They asked good questions about my education, skills, and experience in design, photography, and 3D rendering. The second interview was with the owner again, the art director for a bit, and some contractors who work with web, 3D, and media. Everyone was really nice and it felt relaxed and conversational. They asked good questions, and the owner seemed to really consider what the other employees were saying about potential roles in design, production, and marketing for me. We interviewed in the showroom and the owner's office, which had a comfortable kitchen area. The owner joked around a lot and made us espresso, so the vibe was definitely good. I really liked that the owner was open to placing me flexibly. He saw my skills and potential and offered me a job that starts in customer service but will allow me to contribute to design/photography/video projects when needed, as he's planning to expand that department. It felt like he appreciated my interests and wanted to use my talents practically.

The interview process started with a super short phone screening. Then, there was a really long in-person interview that took 3 hours. It kicked off with an assessment covering math, grammar, and typing. The math part had at least 20 problems that got harder as they went on. After that, I had a 40-minute chat with HR where they gave a super detailed and thorough rundown of the benefits, which apparently don't include PTO or paid holidays, just health and dental insurance. Next up was a 30-minute meeting with the Creative Director. We talked about the job responsibilities and the general vibe of the working environment. Following that, I had a 30-minute conversation with the CEO, mostly going over my resume and my ideas about social media management. To finish it all off, there was another chat with HR to go over the benefits again and finalize things.
