First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Earth Day Network.
Intern
It was a very chill and chatty meeting. We discussed my motivations for wanting to intern there, and I learned more about the company and the tasks I'd be responsible for.
- What motivated your interest in working with Earthday?
Program Manager
The process was really quick. They didn't ask a lot of questions, but I did talk to a few people who work there. One person I spoke with seemed really busy and not that into the job.
- In what ways has your past experience equipped you for this specific position?
Education Director
I had two separate interviews with two different people. The first interview was good, with questions focused on my background and its relevance to the job. The second interview, however, was very negative. The interviewer was rude and condescending, hadn't reviewed my resume, and was upset I didn't have a qualification not listed in the job ad. I wasn't offered the job, but I wouldn't have accepted it anyway given the close working environment and the negative experience with the second interviewer. Her lack of preparation and poor attitude were unprofessional, but I learned from it how not to conduct interviews myself. Overall, the experience was mixed: one positive interaction and one negative one.
- What experiences do you have that are relevant to your background?
- Tell me about your background experiences.
Intern
The interview was over the phone and it was super simple. I'd met the interviewer before at a job fair, so he already had my resume. He just wanted to go over it with me. He was curious about my personal commitment to environmental activism. We even chatted about being camp counselors. Basically, they want to see if you're passionate. Also, mention your writing skills.
- Could you share what Earth Day and environmental activism signifies to you?
