First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Earnest Research.
Data Analyst
The interview process started with a phone screener, then a 1:1 with a team member. A data project and presentation were required afterwards. The overall process was pretty smooth, and the HR person was helpful. I was a bit thrown off by a short 'case' part that wasn't super technical but was unexpected. I got to the data project stage, but didn't get the offer since they were looking for more advanced analytics methods.
- When given a raw dataset, what's your initial step?
- How would you approach a raw dataset initially?
Data Analyst
I applied online via campus recruiting and had a first-round interview on campus. Two data analysts from the firm interviewed me. They were friendly and mostly asked about my resume. No technical questions were asked, but they were really interested in the data analysis projects on my resume. I didn't go to the second round super day because I accepted another offer, but the interview experience was great and it seemed like a good place to work!
- Can you tell me about a data analysis project you've worked on?
- What do you enjoy doing in your free time, outside of academics and work?
Data Analyst
So first there was a video interview with the hiring manager, then we did a case study, and then the last round was a mix of one-on-one and group interviews. A big part of all the interviews was to see if I was interested in the role, if I'd fit in, and if I understood the company. Some of the interviews also tested my critical thinking skills and how I think on my feet.
