The job posting said hybrid but it’s a member-facing position. When I asked the recruiter about the remote days, I couldn’t get a clear answer. I felt awkward when I mentioned I could travel to both Bethesda and Tysons, and the recruiter then used my GPS to check the distances, which was off-putting. I admit I didn't research the position enough to know about the description, but the experience was unpleasant. The recruiter was passive-aggressive while I was trying to understand the role better and ask questions. They also stated my resume showed no work since 2021, which I corrected by referring to the resume I sent, which actually had the correct timeline. The call ended quickly when I realized it wasn't a good fit.
- Why are you a suitable candidate?
Intern
The interview process was easy. It included one phone interview and then a Zoom interview with three managers. Make sure to research the company and also show your personality. Know your 'why', how to introduce yourself, and why you're a good candidate.
- In what ways does your past experience align with the requirements of this position?
Data Engineer
So I had this easy hiring manager round, it was a business case interview. After that, there was a tech round. They said it would be live coding, but they ended up asking me general questions about my past projects, window functions, and checked out my GitHub. The final round was a team chat, we talked about Game of Thrones and just general life stuff. I didn't get the job because they felt I wasn't 'engaging' in conversations, and they hired someone else.
- Can you provide an example of a Window Function?
- What's your experience with .NET?
- Do you have any basic Python questions?

It was a phone interview, they said it was just a conversation, and then you would be submitted for the interview. I spoke with the hiring recruiter first to answer preliminary questions. Then I talked to the manager and she let me know they had no time to train someone who was new new to wires. Even though I came from a branch and she knew I had some experience, she said I needed more.
- Could you tell me how many wires you have conducted?
- What are some of the risks associated with a wire that you can identify?
