First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at E*TRADE from Morgan Stanley.
Software Engineer
It was a straightforward Q&A session focusing on the skills mentioned in the job description. Nothing unexpected or irrelevant to the actual job. Honestly, it was one of the best interview processes I've seen in terms of how well it was put together and the quality of the questions.
- Can you discuss specifications like IETF RFCs?
Financial Services Representative
I was first emailed to set up a zoom interview. Then I talked with 2 managers for about an hour. They asked general questions like what would you do and describe a time where you went above and beyond. It was a pretty easy interview and they made me feel really comfortable, like we were just having a chat. You even forget you're interviewing. It went really smoothly.
- When it comes to following rules at work, are you someone who sticks to them strictly, or do you prefer to improvise?
Product Manager
The first interview was a relaxed 30-minute chat with two people from the hiring team. We talked about my background, how I worked with people who didn't want to cooperate, a project where I led a big improvement, and my product sense by discussing an app I like and how I'd make it better.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Tell us about a situation where you had to get resistant peers to cooperate with your goals, how you built their trust, and the result.
- Describe a significant continuous improvement project you led, including its trigger, the improvements made, and your process.
Marketing Director
I had to do a project as part of my interview which required a lot of time for little reward (having not gotten the job in the end). It was annoying because they really liked my ideas and I wouldn't be surprised if they used my free work after hiring someone else.
- Where do you see yourself in five years
