The interview process is extremely long and communications during this process can be very disorganized. Once you apply through the company website if you are chosen you will receive an email to set up a 15 minute screening call. Very basic questions are asked on what you are looking for and some technical questions. If you make it through that, you will be scheduled for technical phone interview. This interview may take 30-45 minutes and will ask questions to figure out your knowledge on various IT related troubleshooting topics. After the phone interview it can take anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks before you are contacted and scheduled for another interview, (for me I was contacted after 3 weeks and then the interview wasn't for another 2 weeks, as they said this was the earliest they could do the interview). The next step is an in person "fit" interview to see if you fit in with the culture. This can take up to an hour and asks many scenario questions to judge how you would piece together with the company culture. Then after another few weeks you will go for your final interview, where you will perform hands on troubleshooting problems mostly via the command prompt. After that you may receive an offer. I strongly recommend interviewing for other jobs while interviewing for this company as this company's process is so long, (6-8 weeks) it can be a massive waste of time if you are not offered the position. Email communications are not great either. During the interviews they always promise to let you know if you make it to the next step in a few days to a week, but it is usually 2 weeks and sometimes even longer. If at any point you are no longer considered for the role, you will not be informed of this decision, they will simply no longer contact you, even if you are one of the final candidates after the last interview. This can be frustrating as you will usually go 2+ weeks without contact while you wait for them to make a decision, you could be sitting in the dark for awhile. It is a huge lack of courtesy from the company to not follow up with candidates who stick around for almost 2 months. I hope in the future, if the interview process continues to be as drawn out, candidates are treated with much more respect.

I started by sending my resume through their website. Then, an HR person called and asked some basic networking questions. After that, I had a phone interview with Bruce, which was mainly a networking technical interview, with lots of questions about Windows Server domains and zones, and some popular terminal commands. Bruce also sent me an email assignment to see how I explain things in writing. The next interview was with Tim, to see if I'd fit the company culture. This one had no technical questions, but focused on how I'd align with their core values. The final interview was back with Bruce, this time in person, and it was much more in-depth technically. It felt more like a Windows Server Expert role interview than an IT Helpdesk one, despite being for tier 1 support. I was surprised by the depth of questions given my 14 years of IT support experience. I also asked about turnover and was told it's pretty high in IT, which was a red flag for me. They never followed up afterwards to let me know I didn't get the job.

This was one of the longest and most drawn-out interview processes I've ever been through. It starts with applying online through their website. Then, someone from Super Support Staff calls to confirm they got your application. After that, you might get a few emails, but they don't always give a lot of detail about what's next. If you make it to the first interview, you'll meet with Bruce, the owner, who will quiz you on your technical skills, which is pretty standard for an IT consulting company. If you do well, you'll get a homework assignment via email with a scenario to complete in a couple of days; it's not too hard and is meant to check your email communication skills for clients or colleagues. Following that, they'll contact you for a "FIT" interview to see if you'd fit in with the office vibe. Once that's done and you pass, Bruce will have another in-person technical interview to gauge how well you can find information for a problem and your overall technical abilities, based on your background or studies. After all of this, you might hear back from the office within 2-3 weeks with an offer or more details, if you're a good fit.
- Can you explain how you would identify running processes on a computer and save them to a text file for documentation?

The interview process felt long and thorough, possibly because they haven't hired well in the past. They're looking for loyal people with strong networking skills for ISG. While they also have roles like website design and programming, this interview wasn't for those. They're aiming for a Google-like vibe, but honestly, parts of the interview process didn't feel very professional.
- Will the meeting with HR be behavioral?
- Will the meeting with Bruce be technical?
