It was pretty thorough, with a phone screen and then an onsite. They really took the interview process seriously and seemed very intentional about how they approached everything, which I liked. They seemed really focused on culture fit.

The interview process took about 3 weeks. They had issues with Zoom so the first two interviews, which were supposed to be 30 minutes long, had to be switched to phone calls about 10 minutes in. The in-person interview process was also very unorganized. I was called to review my itinerary and when asked if I had it, the interviewer admitted they didn't have it either and had called too early. I decided to go anyway, despite the red flags. I got to my hotel at 2 AM and had a full day of interviews starting at 8 AM, leaving me exhausted. The questions asked didn't seem to really assess my fit for the role or my PPC expertise. I've since found a job that pays more and advances my career more. I'm disappointed because I thought this role would be a great fit, allowing me to live out my faith and use my Google Ads expertise. If you encounter similar disorganization, I'd recommend waiting until they're more organized to apply.

I booked a 45-minute phone interview via the company website. The calendar invite said the interviewer would call my cell. A few minutes after the scheduled start, I got an email with a Zoom link. Even though it was supposed to be a phone interview, I turned on my camera when the interviewer commented that he couldn't see me. He claimed he had updated the meeting to a video conference, which I found dishonest and off-putting. If I hadn't been working remotely, I might not have been able to join via Zoom. Some of the questions were unusual, not the typical ones about work experience. I was also told I might be paid through one of Matthew Kelly's other companies. I felt Dynamic Catholic was a bit questionable due to the lack of religious figures on its board. When I asked how long the job had been open, I was told since late last year, which seems like a significant delay.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I had one phone interview, one zoom interview, and then a face-to-face interview. All the interviews felt really relaxed, like I was talking to a friend. They made me feel comfortable right away. It was super confusing though when they rejected me. First, they said they were looking for someone with more marketing skills. Then, when I followed up via email, they changed their story and said they needed someone with more fundraising experience. What's weird is that they didn't ask me anything about fundraising or marketing during the interviews. As a teacher, I actually have a lot of experience with fundraising through school events. My guess is that they would have checked if I had the right skills before paying for my travel and hotel for two nights. Overall, it was a good experience, but I felt misled by the reasons they gave for not offering me the job. I'd rather they just said it wasn't a personality fit or they didn't like something about my last job, instead of giving two totally nonsensical reasons. It seems odd to spend so much money flying someone out if you're not even sure they have the basic skills you need. Plus, they never asked me any questions about fundraising or marketing.
